We place our students at the centre of our learning and teaching. We believe strong learning partnerships lead to happy, engaged and motivated learners. Our students and staff have shaped the approach we take to learning and teaching at the college.
We let our students and our teachers tell us how best they learn and progress over time.
Rather than advocate any particular style of teaching, our approach to learning and teaching is based on three student-centred principles: knowing, challenging and growing our learners.
Our shared practices are evidence-based approaches to learning and teaching that we all do as a collective of practitioners, in the best interest of our students. These include data-rich class profiles and a focus on formative feedback.
Our learning and teaching policy can be downloaded here.
At KEVICC, staff are learners too and engage in professional learning tailored to their needs. Every fortnight our staff are involved in discussing, reflecting upon and developing their practice. Centred on choice and individual reflection, our professional learning is a space for staff to grow partnerships and spread great ideas. Our staff CPL blog can be visited here.
